Mobile phone parking – FAQ
Do I need to register?
No registration is required to use sms&park.
When does my ticket become valid?
Parking fees are considered to be paid when the parking space user has received the confirmation SMS. The confirmation SMS is your ticket and serves as proof of pay.
How much are the parking fees?
Parking is charged for at the rates currently set by the local authority. Please refer to the information displayed on the ticket machines for the maximum permitted parking time.
Are there any additional charges?
The SMS you send to request the ticket will be charged at your standard SMS rate. Please contact your mobile communications provider for details of SMS charges.
How is payment made?
Charges either appear on your mobile phone bill or are deducted from a pre-paid balance.
Is my personal data anonymous?
Yes. The only information the local authority sees is your registration number and the parking period paid for. Other information (e.g. mobile phone number) is not made available.
How many times can I extend my ticket?
Tickets can be extended until the maximum parking period is reached.
How does the parking attendant know that I have paid the parking fee?
The parking attendant uses the vehicle registration number to check on the system that the appropriate parking fee has been paid.
